The Department of Software at Ajou University has three main strengths. First, our department provides a substantive degree program education based on top-level faculty in Korea. A total of 27 full-time professors, including three foreign professors, and five collaboration professors are providing top-level education. Second, our department provides education according to the global standards in the software field. In particular, our graduate school is pursuing global standards to the extent that 40% of our current students are foreigners, and more than 90% of courses are taught in English. Third, the Department of Software provides an education geared to meet the talent demand in the industry. Our department is operating Korea's first IT-intensive education program and teaching the latest technologies required by the industry.

University, various indicators indicate the competencies of the Department of Software at Ajou University. In the most recent Joongang Ilbo University Evaluation conducted in 2019, Ajou University ranked 11th. The employment rate was 71.6% in 2020, which ranked third in the country. In particular, the employment rate of the Department of Software was 76.4%. Regarding the maintained employment rate, which can evaluate the quality of employment, Ajou University ranked sixth in the country, with a maintained employment rate of 88.6%. Moreover, our department was selected for two educational research teams (Ajou Dream artificial intelligence innovative talent nurturing project group and the next-generation super-intelligent network convergence educational research group) in the fourth phase of the BK21 Plus project in 2020, which demonstrates the research capabilities of professors.Furthermore, our department was selected for the first phase of the software-centric university project and successfully conducted the project for six years. Our department was also selected the second phase of the software-centric university project (2022-2027).
